Reporting directly to the President, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will assist the President in developing and implementing an aggressive growth strategy for the company.  The culture is very entrepreneurial and fast paced.  As a result, The CFO will need to be a skilled and mature business manager and generalist who is comfortable with change and will provide strong direction and leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:

The accurate and timely compiling of corporate financial statements representing the operations of our multiple brand businesses and overall corporate performance.

Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting, tax planning, real estate, and conversation of assets.

Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in financial processes for the company.

Ensure compliance of all financial obligations based on contractual agreements of licensees and international and domestic business partners.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.

Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry.

Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.

Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.

Interact with other managers and executives to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.

Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.

Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.

Assist in obtaining the necessary licenses and insurance required to start and maintain a business.

Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide the president and the board of directors.  Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.

Assist in the establishment and implementation short- and long-range department and company goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by the President and Board of Directors.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Experience in strategic planning and execution of an apparel business.  The CFO will have strong knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.  Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.  Knowledge of federate and state financial regulations.  Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.  Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Essential Skill Sets and Requirements:

Minimum of a bachelors degree (Master’s strongly preferred) in Finance and Accounting.

A minimum of 10 years experience in accounting and finance in the apparel industry.

A minimum of five years high level management experience.

Demonstrated abilities in capital acquisition, inventory control, systems and process development.

A solid knowledge of EMS/ERP systems is a plus.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.  Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
